Big Stone Therapies, Inc. is dedicated to providing excellence in rehabilitation services by optimizing health and function for families and businesses within their communities through caring, hands-on healing. BST is an aggressive rehabilitation provider and has been in business since 1990. We are a Therapist-owned company with a strong belief in a hands-on approach to Therapy. Company History
Big Stone Physical Therapy, Inc. was established in July of 1990 by two physical therapists; Paul Treinen and Wade VanDover. The practice originally began by providing inpatient and outpatient physical therapy services to four community hospitals located in Ortonville, Wheaton and Graceville in Minnesota and Sisseton, SD. Since the addition of occupational therapy, speech language pathology, massage therapy and occupational health the name was changed to Big Stone Therapies, Inc. (BST) to incorporate all the services they provide. BST has grown to include inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, home health, school based rehabilitation and on-field sports medicine services.
Occupational health services were started in June of 2000 and in the fall of 2005, a sister company, OccuPRO, Inc. was established to provide occupational health services to businesses in area communities.
In 2002 the owners made the decision to venture into the world of private practice therapy services. At that time they brought in Roman Taffe to serve as administrator and to manage the business affairs of their growing practice. He is now a 3rd partner in BST.
Today, BST has grown into a thriving business which serves the therapy needs of 22 communities in Minnesota and South Dakota. They currently provide contract therapy services in the communities of: Aitkin, Appleton, Benson, Browns Valley, Farmington, Graceville, Hendricks, Madison, Marshall, Minneota, Olivia, Ortonville, Thief River Falls, Wheaton, and Zumbrota in Minnesota, and Big Stone City, Milbank, and Sisseton in South Dakota. In addition, BST owns and operates private practice clinics in the communities of: Baxter, MN, Marshall, MN, Morris, MN and Watertown, SD. BST currently employs approximately 200 talented individuals.

Employees received 120 hours of paid time off per year (based on 40-hour work week), as well as 8 paid holidays. We have a strong Professional Development program with FREE in-house courses, an external CE budget, plus funds for specialty certification, degree assistance, and a residency program.
Big Stone Therapies also sends a group of employees to Guatemala twice each year. The goal of this week-long mission trip is to provide rehab therapies to the men, women, and children of the impoverished area of San Lucas. BST pays for the employees' wages, meals, lodging, and half of the airfare for the trip.
